title:{A lOnG eNtRY..PoPcOrN aNyONe?}
I miss school after 2 days at home because of my fever... I received my first hug frm Faezah...2nd frm Jo and 3rd frm Lina. I am glad they missed my prescence...that was what Jo told me. I was touched because Jo and I dun often get to chat in school...
Next was down to the print shop. I accidentally stained the shirt Alicia's mum gave me..Sorry Alicia..I knew it was brandnew, but going to the print shop to do dyeing was a last minute thingy...*apologetic* I saw a friend and chatted...comfort her abt sch. I got the bag I sewed....as well as the reflection. This is how it goes...
When the assignment was given to us, I immediately have in mind the material which I am going to use for my bag is denim-like material. I knew that I will settle on a denim material as the deisgn for the bag will look good against it.At the same time, i thought of designs to decorate my bag.
Initially, I wanted to use buttons of various colours to create a rainbow feeling. But later on, I realise that I was not able to get buttons of such variation. Price of the buttons was an issue. After which I decided to settle on buttons which I saw in a scrapbook shop which I often frequent which were afforadable and attractive.
Next was the purchase of the cloth, I decided to go IKEA to look for cloths. It was a hard time making decisions by myself, I walked round the area several times surveying the different types of cloths that were available. The denim cloth which I wanted was not available, so I decided to settle on one that was denim-like. I decided to get another cloth which was of another pattern to enhance the bag. I only needed less than a meter of cloth but the boss said that a meter of cloth was the standard. Oh well, what else can I do but to settle on it? The remaining will be put into good use in future.
When I decided on the design of the bag using the buttons, my lecturer, Wilson commented that I was being ambitious. But I think likewise. Now that I have completed the bag, I believed him. I was focusing on the result rather than the process. It was tough sewing the butons which I have lost count of. It was a diffusing effect that I made use of. It turned out to be what I have imagined.
Along the way, I unpicked several times in order to achieve the almost perfect bag since my previous grades were not what I was hoping for. The whole sewing process for this bag was smooth, but tedious. I am very satisfied with this bag as I have given my best shot. The conclusion for this bag for me is, to dream big because at the end of the day, the result filles me with a sense of accomplishment.
